The extensive scaffolding requirements at the main entrance to Rochdale College posed a numbers of access issues.The objective to ensure safe and continuous access for college students and members of the faculty. The finished scaffold has created a safe and people freindly rout too the main campus and allows the main contractor a safe platform to work on.

The Problem

Provide access to culvert bed over existing wall on a public right of way

Suspend scaffold without utilising the boundary wall

To prevent the working platform from standing in water

Prevent tilt on scaffold when contractors take up position

Restrict the size on a public right of way

Ensure all aspects of the scaffold conform to HSE site requirements

Solution

Have a scaffold designed that could be built to cover all aspects of work  traversing the wall with a provision for Kentledge, to act as a counter balance preventing any movement when the working platform is in use utilizing beams.

Ensure the access was safe for those utilising the scaffold with scaffold gates and erect with advanced and part 2 experienced scaffolders.

Provide weekly Scaffold inspections to maintain safety standards.

Secure Scaffold provided to give access to bridged culvert works allowing for workers and equipment to undertake repair work and clear the debris.

The extensive refurbishment to the Darwen Town Hall an Market with new shop frontages being added.

A public house refurbishment of Accrington’s New Wetherspoon in the heart of Accrington. The work has thrown up numerous problems that you would find with any older property but given the on the ground staff  the additional work has been covered helping the work to progress.    

A new build where scaffolding was provided for safe access on a busy retail park in Manchester.

Propping Works for School refurbishment and alterations.

The slimshor propping will allow alterations to get fully underway for the extension turning this part of the old building into bright and modern addition to the school with props installed by qualified scaffolders.

A full re roof was required whilst the school was in use with safe work aresa set up to allow for scaffolding erection during school times.

The lastest Church Restoration in the  Strangeways area of Manchester For re Roof and pointing work Erected in stages to accomodate the Main Contractor Needs.

Spire repairs call for some delicate handling by scaffolders the work was finished and the spire will stand for a further 100 years.

This work called for Mitchell's Scaffolders to put in place an extensive temporary roofing system.

A complete building upgrade was required and the scaffolders provided the safest form of access to accomodate the work.
