Even in this era of body-consciousness and healthy eating, there are still plenty of us who enjoy a fast food meal from time to time. There are plenty of fast food restaurants to choose from on the high street but one of the most popular is Nando's, a fast-growing chain with well over 1,000 branches. Our operatives were recently called upon to design and install scaffolding at one of these branches.
Though Nando's is a relatively recent newcomer to fast food fame, the company was actually founded in 1987. South African friends Robert Brozin and Fernando Duarte so enjoyed a chicken meal at a local takeaway that they decided to purchase the outlet there and then. An instant success, Nando's began appearing at more locations, reaching the UK back in 1992. Today, more than 8,000 people are employed by the company in the UK alone.
A significant amount of repairs and renovation work was required at Nando's in Cheetham Hill, just outside Manchester city centre in the busy Fort Street Retail Park. The owners got in touch with Mitchell's Scaffolding Ltd with a request for us to design and implement a scaffolding solution to facilitate these repairs.
After a site visit to exactly determine the relevant parameters, our operatives erected the scaffold exactly according to our bespoke design. The repair work progressed quickly, with no disruption to either the ordinary operation of Nando's or any of the surrounding businesses in the retail park.
The repair work is now completed and the scaffolding has been dismantled and removed without a trace. To celebrate, our operatives enjoyed a well-deserved (and very tasty!) meal at the newly refurbished building.
